Jkmatic Multi-valve system is designed as a Multimedia Filter and Water softener system, it could either use Silica Sand,Active Carbon and other materials to make a multimedia water filter system. Or anion and ion for a exchange water Softener. It can be managed to multiple tanks system based on different flow rate, maximum 9 tanks, flow rate from minimum 6 tons to maximum 720 tons.The system could be automatically controlled by our special designed digtal stager controller. The new designed full bed technology could save up 30% regeneration use water and 30%-50% salt. 

The automatic regeneration controller features a choice of 7 or 12 day calendar wheels. Time of regeneration and length of time for each regeneration cycle are fully adjustable. Also adopt flow rate measuring method to precisely measure total water output, increase the utilization efficiency of media and resin. 

Its a high efficient, easily cleaned and maintained, simple opearating system, and a modular control designed for operational flexibility.The control system is separated from the system, once there is failure of the system, only need to change the relevant parts to repair the control system at site. No need complex assembly and professional service engineer or return to factory repair.

Water Media Filters for Industrial & Commercial

Water media filters are most efficiently utilized during operations that require the removal of large amounts of suspended solids in water. Our media filters have continued to be major players in maintaining high water quality throughout the world's ecosystem through the filtration of harmful substances in rivers, lakes, streams, wells, etc. 
JKmatic multimedia water filter systems are ideally suited for use where stringent water quality standards are required or where higher levels of suspended solids are present. These applications can include re-use applications, water pre-treatment applications for reverse osmosis and deionization systems or as a pre-treatment system prior to a disposable bag or cartridge filters.

Advantages:
The multi-media water filter systems operate for much longer periods of time (five or more times as long at the same filtration rate) before backwashing is necessary because the bed can hold more turbidity. Turbidity is trapped and held throughout the entire bed depth, rather than the top one or two inches.
Multi-media filtration is much better suited for use in a closed pressure tank since cracking of the bed, and subsequent breakthrough of turbidity is virtually eliminated and the need for visual inspection is unnecessary. The use of pressure tanks (rather than open basins or filters) is an obvious advantage for point-of-use filtration and could also be of real importance in the filtration of small community water supplies. More rapid filtration flow rates in multi-media filtration allow the use of smaller diameter tanks with equal or better results. A very high degree of clarity is achieved in the filtered water because of the fact that the finer particles of garnet at the bottom trap finer turbidity particles.
Another important advantage is that multi-media water filters can clarify water at a much higher flow rate than a single-media sand filter (5.5 to 8 gallons per minute, as compared to 1.5 to 2.5 gallons per minute in a 12 inch diameter tank). This is 14 to 15 gpm per square foot of bed area, as compared to 2 gpm per square foot of bed area. This is a very important difference in the production of filtered water.

They can be used in a variety of service conditions including, but not limited to: industrial, municipal, and institutional applications.

What is media filter in water treatment?
Multi media water filter systems use three media layers for multimedia filtration. These layers are called anthracite, sand and gravel. Their usefulness resides in the distinct differences in density between these layers of media. Anthracite has the least density among the three, followed by sand, and gravel.

Benefits of multi-media filters?

While conventional sand filters are composed of only one filtration media, media filters consist of multiple and are ordered in descending entrances. Due to their greater amount of layers, multi media water filter systems are capable of capturing and holding a superior number of fragments than conventional sand filters before backwashing is needed. Additionally, multi media water filters function for an extended amount of time in comparison to traditional sand filters, since they are able to trap sediment and particles throughout the entire filter bed. This filtration process creates cleaner water much at a much faster rate than conventional sand filtration. The media filter comes complete with 5 valves and automatic controller to accomplish the backwash cycles.

Why is anthracite used in media filtration?
Anthracite filtration media is a great filtration material to remove and filter out turbidity and total suspended solids for the purposes of TSS water treatment. Since the specific gravity of anthracite is lighter than sand, it is much used in combination with sand in dual-media filtration or with sand and garnet in multi media filters.

Filter Media Types

  • Sand is the most common filter media. Generally, fine mesh sand is coupled with a course grain support bed to remove suspended solids and turbidity. Graded in various ranges, Pure Aqua sand can be used as filtration medium or underbedding depending on particle size and application.
  • Gravel has a highly spherical shape that promotes good flow and even distribution in support beds.
  • Calcite media is specially graded calcium carbonate compound for neutralizing acid with consistent dissolving rates for water treatment.
  • Manganese Greensand media is treated siliceous material for treating water containing iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide through oxidation.
  • Anthracite is recommended as a filter medium where additional silica in the water is not desirable and can remove lighter weight turbidity. Anthracite is typically used in applications where silica pick-up is undesireable.
  • Activated carbon medium is used to remove taste, odor, organic contaminants, and chlorine as well as being used in many drinking water applications.
  • ProSand is based on a rare natural mineral. Its unique properties radically improve the performance and cost of media filtration.
  • Filter AG is non-hydrous silicon dioxide with many advantages for the reduction of suspended matter.
  • Multimedia is required when maximum quality water is required and unwanted sediment is too small to be removed by standard media. It consists of multiple layers of increasing grain size to remove sediment as small as 10 microns.

Multimedia Filtration Operating Cycles

Service Cycle
Water flows downward through the media while solids accumulate in the media bed. The purified water passes through to downstream processes.

Backwash Cycle
When the filter begins to clog or when the head loss (pressure drop) through the bed increases, flow rates are reduced. To prevent degradation of water quality, the flow is reversed. This is directed by the control valve(s) to drain, carrying with it, the particulate matter that has built up during service. The required flow is specific to the media and is essential to proper cleaning of the media bed. For media filters, the backwash flow is always higher than the service flow rate.
